Hi Everyone i have been asked a few times how i make the celeb frames so i thought i would put up a quick tutorial on how i do it.. maybe there is a quicker or easier way of making them--i dont know--:) all i can do is show you how i make them..(sorry in advance for the quality of the sample pics i didn`t want them toooo big in file size) i hope this tutorial help a little bit ..let me know in the shout box
Shirlz :)
Ok how do i explain this lot :) making the frames etc is quite simple...take a look at pic 1 this is how my frame template looks in photoshop... on the right you can see the layers.. A is the frame shape that is simply a square with the centre removed and in this case blue but you can choose what ever colour you want.. layer B is the first glitter layer make sure this layer is transparent and you have the frame shape selected so you have what they call marching ants moving around it this will ensure you only work in that area then just dot some stars or spots etc around the edges... layer C is almost the same as layer B but place your dots etc in differnt places...layer D is the text layer for the name of your band etc
ok so now take a look at pic 2 what we need is two of every thing...two frames and two text and the two gliiter files...we already have the two glitter files so duplicate the frame layer and the text layer then position them like a sandwich eg..frame-gliterlayer1-text--frame-glitterlayer2-text...make sure you have added the name of your band to the text layers :)
what we need to do now is reduce all this to two layers each layer containing one text-one glitter-one frame..to do this in photoshop highlight the top text layer then click on the little box next to the eye symbol on the gliter file underneath this will put a liitle chain link in the box and do the same with the frame layer below that one you should now have the top three layers ready to merge go up to the top tool bar and click on the word layer this will drop down a menu firstly go to rasterize and rasterize all linked layers then back to the layer menu again amd down to merge layers this will have now sandwiched those three layers into one... now link your remaining three layers and repeat the rasterize and merge you should end up with just two layers like pic 3 :)
Ok now take a deep breath.. i have chosen six celeb pics for my animation so i need six glitter frames....3 of glitter frame 1 and 3 of glitter frame 2...so duplicate each of the two frames until you have three of each then alternate them eg gliiterframe1--glitterframe2---glitterframe1--glitterframe2--glitterframe1--glitterframe2..like pic 4:)
take each of your six celeb pics and place one on a new layer UNDER each of you six glitterframes like pic 5 :)
now we need to merge each of the frames with the pic underneath it Just like before we highlight the frame layer and then click on the little link box on the frame layer below..go up to layers on the tool bar and down to merge layers..start with the top glitter frame and repeat until you end up with six frames again but now each frame contains a celeb pic as well like pic 6 above and 7 below :)
you have finished making your glitter frame.. SAVE YOUR FILE OK NOW WE HAVE THE FILE SAVED WE WANT TO ANIMATE IT ..Hi Kirsty you said your friend knows how to animate so i wont show any examples but here is what i do in image ready..open my file then click on make frames from layers change the speed to 0.2 and click on forever then save optimized as a gif file and there you have it a glittery celeb frame..:) :)
I hope this has helped you Kirsty, let me know how you get on in the shoutbox :) i look forward to seeing your frames :) and of course you dont have to have them glittery just leave out the glitter layers :)
Here it is the finished product:)... and before any one tell me i have not put the name on ...i know :) i slipped up there...but no matter...this is just a sample :)
