THE STORY...
There once was a kingdom known as Kalestis. Kalestis was a kingdom filled with powerful mages who were infamous for creating a book of incantations known as the Kalestian incantations. Although the Kalestian mages were the only ones who knew the incantations, other kingdoms paid Kalestis to have their mages cast the incantations for them. One of these kingdoms was the neighboring kingdom, Escalon. Escalon was known for sparking wars, and so the king of Escalon paid Kalestis to use an incantation to create a powerful being that would serve and bring victory to Escalon. The being was created with the lives of 12 mages and 1000 sacrifices. The being was called the Arcessere. After 18 years, when the Arcessere had grown into adulthood, Escalon released it to do the King’s bidding. At first, the Arcessere was used to bring quick victory in war, but eventually, the King began using the Arcessere for assassinations and conquering other nations. Escalon’s eye turned towards Kalestis and the Kalestian incantations. The King wanted the incantations for himself and planned to use the Arcessere to obtain them. War broke out between Escalon and Kalestis, and Kalestis lost, but not before hiding the Kalestian incantations and creating another being similar to the Arcessere. This being was called the Angelus, and its purpose was to destroy the Arcessere and to bring righteousness to the world. The Angelus was never found, until 16 years later where the game begins.
NOTE: FACE SETS SUBJECT TO CHANGE
Note: Character descriptions are brief and vague. If you are interested, I will post or send you detailed descriptions.
Kaeles
Age: 16
Gender: female
Class: peasant
Kaeles is the main character. She lives in a small town in the countryside, but longs to see the world and become a mage. Kaeles has no innate talent at magic, but after extensive reading, she is able to use some basic spells. Kaeles is soft-spoken and always aims to do the right thing. She is in tune with others’ emotions and is idealistic. She has strong morals and cannot understand those who do not; therefore, she tends to see the best in people and can be naïve at times.
Daemon Laute
Age: late teens, early twenties
Gender: male
Class: Sicari guard
Daemon Laute is found injured by Kaeles. Kaeles then helps him heal, and in the meantime, a love blossoms between them. Daemon’s character seems to be opposite of Kaeles’; he is stoic, cold, speaks his mind, and has a mixed-up sense of righteousness that he cannot define. Daemon lives in the capitol city, Eviscera, and is a guard in the Sicari under the command of the Arcessere.
Bryant Westwood
Age: 18-19
Gender: male
Class: Maistas member
Bryant is a member of the Maistas. He is quite renowned as a healer and became infamous when his allegiance with the Maistas was uncovered. Bryant is brash, short-tempered, is never afraid to make outrageous or sarcastic remarks. Bryant says that he doesn’t really consider himself an ally of the Maistas because he does not think that either the Maistas or Escalon is right, but he does believe that the Maistas is more right.

Glacie is an escape experiment. She is one of the test subjects used to test magic potions and incantations for fighting enhancement capabilities. Glacie Waters wields a giant sword with dexterity and strength and she always has a positive attitude. Also, she is Romis Water's sister, but they couldn't be more different.
WHY I DELETED THE DEMO
I was going to make the demo to give you an idea of how the game would play. However, a team would be necessary to create the ENTIRE game. So that is my plan; I want to assemble a team of talented people to make one of the best RPG games ever with the RPG MAKER XP version. I did not make a demo because I want us to work together, and I'm sure the game would change. A list of positions will be listed below, but first let me say this: I want this to be a corroboration. That is why I deleted the demo. I want to work together to create a great game. A link to the details of positions and about the team will be listed below, but first read the plot. Because the first thing a great game needs is a great story, and that is what I bring. Also, once the team is assembled and ready to go, EVERYTHING in the story is subject to change. We'll work together, so don't think I plan on bossing you around or using you to make my game. It will be our game. Also, if you apply for a position or make up one of your own, you are not pidgeon holed in that position. We should corroborate on everything. Details later.
Now, below is the skeletal foundation of the game.
Natu Maior
Age: 40-50s
Gender: male
Class: current leader of the Maistas
Natu Maior is the current leader of the Maistas. He is adamant to the ideals of the former nation Kalestis and he is also somewhat hard-headed. Although the Maistas had been created to find the Angelus, Natu seems more bent on killing the Arcessere and has made the Arcessere his greatest nemesis. When he meets Kaeles, he is unimpressed by her skills and sees her as more of a false tool of hope than what she potentially might be. Also, Natu seems bent on keeping a certain secret undercover. What could it be?
Kauri
Age: early twenties
Gender: female
Class: Sicari member
Kauri is the personal body guard of Natu Maior. Kauri is unwaiveringly loyal to Natu. Also, it seems as though Natu and Kauri have a secret.
THEMES:
1. The Senselessness of War
2. The Evils of Expectations
3. The Ambiguity of Good and Evil
For more info on the themes and how they work in the story, post in the comment section or send an email.
King Aemulari
Age: 60-70s
Gender: male
Class: king of Escalon
Little is known about the King of Escalon. He is a friend of Daemon's, and Daemon worries, as the King has been having strange fits lately.
The Maistas
The Maistas is an organization that was founded by Erzael after the fall of Kalestis and the creation of the Angelus. The Maistas’ goal is to find the Angelus and aid it in completing its purpose, which is destroying the Arcessere and bringing righteousness to the world. The Maistas is an underground organization in Escalon, and its members are any that oppose Escalon and hold the ideals of Kalestis.
The Sicari
The Sicari is the King’s personal guard. The King can use the Sicari for whatever he wants, and tends to use them for assassinations, exterminating the Maistas, bringing peace to Escalon, etc. The leader of the Sicari is the Arcessere, and under him are four captains, Romis Waters, Aniguari, Nemone Steele, and Lin, who each control a host of guards.
Aniguari
Age: 30-early 40's
Gender: male
Class: telepath; captain of Sicari
Aniguari is the second in command of the Sicari. He has unwaivering loyalty to the King, which is noble, but he is somewhat naive because of it. Aniguari does not like or trust the Arcessere, claiming that the Arcessere has not earned the respect or power that he has been given.
Romis Waters
Age: late twenties, early thirties
Gender: male
Class: dragon lord, captain of Sicari
Romis Waters is known for his ability to control dragons and drakes and for his unmatched physical strength. He is one of four Sicari captains and is also known for his brash, headstrong attitude and for his valor and bravery. Also, he is blind but has exceptional hearing.
BASIC PLOT
1. Kaeles, a peasant girl in Perequos, finds and helps Daemon
2. Love relationship develops between Kaeles and Daemon while Daemon is healing
3. Daemon is a member of the Sicari, the King’s personal guard, and so when he is healed, he returns to his job. Daemon later returns to visit and he finds that Kaeles had been kidnapped.
4. Kaeles had been kidnapped by the Maistas, who inform her that she is the Angelus.
5. Daemon kills Kaeles’ captors.
6. Kaeles seeks out the Maistas in order to find out more about the Angelus, and eventually sides with them.
7. Kaeles and Maistas make plan to kill the Arcessere and the one known as Nequam, thereby fulfilling the Angelus’ destiny.
8. Following the plan, Kaeles goes to the capital of Escalon, Eviscera, to train for the Sicari. The training begins with the general Sicari trial. Once that is done, Kaeles trains under each of the Sicari captains, Nemone, Romis, Aniguari, and Lin. The player can choose what Kaeles learns. For example, Nemone offers to teach Kaeles 4 out of 10 spells and Aniguari offers to give Kaeles X points in any category. Kaeles is allowed to do practice battles with Daemon. Daemon is much stronger than Kaeles, so Kaeles can gain a lot of experience by fighting strong opponents.
9. While training and after a mission or two within the training period, Kaeles sneaks (with a script like Metal Gear Solid) around and finds information enabling the Maistas to set a trap for the Arcessere.
10. The Maistas plans the ambush. Kaeles is alone with the injured Arcessere. She unmasks him and discovers that it is Daemon. Kaeles decides to hide him from the rest of the Maistas until the raid is over. (Sneak around to a safe place MGS style) Afterwards, Kaeles heals him enough so he will be okay, but leaves before he is conscious.
11. Daemon’s POV: Daemon recovers. The King knows Kaeles is not on Escalon’s side and orders Daemon to kill Kaeles. There is a confrontation. Daemon kills the King, flees, and finds Kaeles.
12. Kaeles’ POV: Daemon and Kaeles reunite and decide to run away under the protection of the Maistas, because they are sure they will both be wanted by Escalon, and official war may break out between the Maistas and Escalon. Party is now as follows: Maistas members Natu and Bryant, and Kaeles and Daemon. The next couple missions revolve around the party running from the law to the major Maistas hideout while the Sicari captains are hunting them down.
13. The party makes it to the hideout.
14. Natu, leader of the Maistas, and reincarnation of Erzael the founder of the Maistas, finds out that Daemon is the person he loathes the most, the Arcessere. Despite the fact that the Arcessere is helping him, Natu’s hate had grown too strong over the years. In fact, the Arcessere had killed Erzael. Natu turns on Daemon and sentences him to be executed. The rest of the Maistas agrees with Natu (after Natu uses some persuasive rhetoric) except for Kaeles and Bryant. (Note: Erzael, the founder of the Maistas, was killed by the Arcessere, but not before using one of the Kalestian incantations to reincarnate himself.)
15. Kaeles and Bryant break Daemon free in a mission that includes a boss battle with Natu and Kauri.
16. Kaeles, Daemon, and Bryant run away to a country called the Revera. The Revera is a peaceful, agrarian nation that remains neutral in all the affairs of other countries. On the way, there are several missions, mostly revolving around the “Experiments” missions, in which Glacie Waters becomes a party member.
17. The four live peacefully in the Revera for some time. Note: by this time, love relationship between Kaeles and Daemon should be well developed.
18. In the meantime, war has broken out between Escalon and the Maistas. The Maistas had taken control of southern Escalon and pronounced itself Neo Kalestis. The search is still on for both the Daemon and Kaeles.
19. Kaeles learns that the fighting is moving close to her home town, Perequos. The four return to Perequos to find Kaeles’ family and bring them to the Revera. There are several rescue give a helping hand type missions on the way back to Perequos. They find that the town, along with a string of towns that had sided with Neo-Kalestis) had been destroyed and that there are no survivors. Kaeles knows that it is because of her that the razing happened. She tells the three that she has the power to stop the war and bring peace, and so does Daemon. She says that thousands of lives had been sacrificed to create her so that she could prevent such atrocities, and here she is with the power, and she hides away for her own happiness. She tells Daemon, Glacie, and Bryant that she is returning to the Maistas.
20. This sucks for Daemon because Glacie and Bryant side with the Maistas. Daemon is alone. The only thing that gave him the will-power to not follow his impulsive instinct to obey Nequam (the King’s) orders and to destroy Kaeles was his love for Kaeles. Without that, Daemon returns to Escalon and meets the new King, Aniguari (who Daemon notices is no longer the Aniguari he knew, but a shell of Aniguari now controlled by Nequam, controlled in the same way King Aemulari had been.) Nequam is pissed, but he has a plan. We do not know what happens to Daemon. All we know is that Nequam says that he will release Daemon from is “binds” after he does two things: destroys the Angelus and retrieves a book.
21. Kaeles’ POV: Natu is also pissed, but he accepts Kaeles back because he needs her. There will be some tie-in mission to introduce another playable character who is in or sides with the Maistas. Therefore, the party will be: Kaeles, Glacie, Bryant, and someone else. The party consistently remains the same from here on. The Arcessere returns to Escalon and is apparently more powerful than ever. The next sets of missions revolve around a book containing Kalestian spells including the Eksequor incantation that created both the Arcessere and the Angelus. You see, Nequam’s plan is to get his hands on the book and create an army of Arcessere/Angelus type creatures all intent on serving him. So basically it is the search and race for this book. The Maistas is the first to get the book, and Natu uses an incantation in the book to transform into his former self, Erzael. Erzael then says that he will bring righteousness to Escalon, and that the Angelus is not worthy. He orders Kaeles to be locked away, and that he will make himself the Angelus by taking Kaeles’ life/power, which, by the way, she has not yet mastered. The rest of the player’s party is also locked away. There is an escape/rescue mission where you must defeat Natu/Erzael and Kauri. Bryant is your leading character for this mission. Bryant seeks out Daemon, who, by the way, has been the player’s enemy for the past few missions, and Bryant makes a deal with Daemon. If Daemon helps save Kaeles, Bryant will give Daemon the Kalestian Incantations if they can get them from Natu. Note: There is somewhat of a love triangle here, obviously. Bryant, Daemon, Glacie, and that other party member manage to save Kaeles, defeat Natu/Erzael and Kauri, and get the book. Daemon takes the book after and Bryant explains the deal. Daemon then informs them that Volaticus (the city they are currently in) will be under siege by Daemon’s army, and that they won’t have time to get away. Daemon then teleports away with the book. Daemon sends the book with Romis to the King. In the meantime, Kaeles prepares the city for the siege while the rest of the party sneaks out of the city to chase after Romis and the book.
22. ENDING: Kaeles and the Maistas (not including Glacie and Bryant and the other party member who are on a separate mission) are under siege by Escalon in their capital city in Neo Kalestis. The Maistas seem to be holding up in the siege well. However, the Arcessere tells his men that he has a plan. The Arcessere reads a spell from a book that he had found with the Eksequor Incantation. It is a curse. It is a curse that slowly kills everything within its radius. This includes Arcessere himself, the Angelus, the Maistas within the city, and even the Arcessere’s own army. In doing this, Daemon had met his two objectives to be free of his “binds”: get the book to Nequam and kill Kaeles. The weaker ones who are subjected to this curse dies quickly; however, Kaeles, Daemon, and Natu and some of the lingering Maistas and Daemon’s army survive. Note: Characters under curse are from here on incurably subjected to poison-like condition. Kaeles is cursed and is resting in her corridor which is high up a tower in the castle. From her balcony, she sees Daemon and what is left of his men charge through the city towards the castle. There are a few skirmishes. Daemon manages to run past most of fights and into the castle. Kaeles runs down the tower to a long wide hall filled with steps. Daemon is below at the bottom and Kaeles is atop the plateau of steps. There are many guards between them. Daemon removes his Arcessere mask and shroud. He runs towards Kaeles as the guards charge him. Daemon is too weak from his own curse to fend them off. Halfway up the stairs he falls as the guard’s spears fall upon him. He weakly reaches out to Kaeles, who had not moved from her plateau.
23. Kaeles’ purposes for being born were to kill the Arcessere, which had been done, and to bring righteousness to Escalon. Kaeles then realizes that bringing righteousness to Escalon means to destroy the Kalestian incantations. Earlier, the player learns that Kalestian incantations were used to do all of the following: create the Angelus and the Arcessere, were the cause of the original war between Kalestis and Escalon, give Nequam eternal life and control a host as a body, reincarnate Natu, bind Daemon, and of course, cast the curse that causes the deaths of Daemon, Kaeles, Natu, and many more. They must find the book which is now in the possession of Nequam. The last mission is to get the book, which requires the characters to go to Eviscera and into the castle, fight off the Sicari, castle guards, and a particularly difficult boss battle between the player’s party and three Sicari captains: Romis, Nemone, AND Lin simultaneously. (I’m doing this because I always wonder why RPG’s have the whole load of the player’s people fight just ONE of the bad guys. I mean, hey, if I’m the bad guy, I don’t take the good guys on single-handedly. I gang up on them like they gang up on me.) There is a boss battle with Aniguari. Aniguari is one tricky boss. Aniguari is a telepath, and so he knows where the player’s characters are going to move, allowing him to evade almost all physical attacks. Luckily, spells are available to all characters at a price. He’s also VERY fast and comes along with two healers at his side. Lastly, there is the last boss battle with Nequam, which is easy compared to the difficulty of the last two. I haven’t decided upon the very end of the game yet. I don’t know if I want Kaeles to die in the end or not. It might be too depressing, but ideally and if I be consistent with the theme and keep everything cohesive, she should die from the curse.
